Thoughtful dose.

This secondary analysis of 124 kids ages 3-21 treated at St. Judes with CSI for medulloblastoma on a prospective phase 3 trial evaluated cognitive testing of memory and processing speed every year for at least 5 years. Similar to in adults, mean hippocampal dose was associated with memory declines, while mean doses to corpus callosum and frontal white matter were associated with declines in processing speed. This was in a stepwise fashion such that every 1 Gy increase in hippocampal dose increased the odds of memory decline by 23-26%, and every 1 Gy increase in corpus callosum and frontal white matter dose increased the odds of processing speed decline by 10-15%. | Acharya, J Clin Oncol 2021
