Gulp.

Last year, we saw a couple early-phase trials of SBRT for early-stage larynx cancer. Because the treatment course was delivered over so few treatments, it was imperative to account for laryngeal motion during swallowing. Here the UTSW group reports their experience using surface tracking of the larynx during treatment. Patients swallowed an average of 6.5 times per fraction, with each swallow lasting 4 seconds with a mean peak amplitude of 5 mm. Using optical surface tracking, they were able to limit laryngeal motion during beam-on time. | Zhao, Radiother Oncol 2020
