Patriotism.

The phase 2 PATRIOT trial previously reported that delivering 800 cGy x 5 = 4000 cGy to the prostate weekly rather than every other day slashes moderate to severe acute problems with bowel quality life by roughly two-thirds. The updated analysis, however, shows no appreciable difference in (the arguably more important) long term quality of life. Late grade 3+ GI toxicities occurred in 1% with every other day and 3% with weekly treatments, and late grade 3+ occurred in 7% and 3%, respectively. As expected, there were no differences in disease outcomes.
