Pressured.

What’s the best way to introduce more hypofractionated radiation regimens into wide-spread use? Introduce peer pressure, of course. In this study, having a rad onc who utilized hypofractionation for breast cancer within a peer group of rad oncs increased the likelihood that hypofractionation was used in subsequent years. In contrast, peer groups that didn’t use hypofractionation weren’t likely to start using it over time. Interestingly, this didn’t hold true for using shorter course treatment for bone mets. TBL: Be careful who you surround yourself with, because you very well may adopt their treatment habits. | Yu, Pract Radiat Oncol 2019
