Travel advisory.

This online survey demonstrates that, while 92% of cancer patients would prefer to undergo surgery at a more specialized hospital farther away, over half are deterred to travel by financial barriers. We can't say this is shocking, but the authors make a pretty brilliant point. In the context of widely variable cancer mortality outcomes across hospitals, perhaps paying for a bus ticket or a pet sitter could provide some incredibly cost-effective solutions. | Resio, JAMA Netw Open 2018
