If you haven’t heard, radiation oncology is neither the most historically nor currently diverse field of medicine. The newly-minted Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology Equity and Inclusion Subcommittee performed a survey to take the pulse of rad onc residents’ perceptions of residency inclusion. With a 42% response rate, at least one sentiment was clear: Black residents report both social and academic exclusion.
