Feels like home.

Brain mets from esophagogastric adenocarcinoma are rare. This retrospective look at 68 patients treated at MSKCC for such intracranial disease reports respectable overall survival rates of 35% at one year and 24% at two years. Nearly three-quarters received radiosurgery with or without preceding resection. Interestingly, as with breast cancer, genomic analyses performed on resected brain mets revealed an apparent enrichment of HER2-expression as compared to primary tumors, which may be due to a proclivity of HER2+ disease to home in on brain parenchyma and/or to poor intracranial penetration of HER2-targeted drugs. | Tsai, JAMA Netw Open 2022
