The people most likely to get lung cancer are the same people most likely to have major complications from lung surgery. A retrospective look at prospectively captured data on 252 patients with stage I-IIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) ineligible for lobectomy compared outcomes after stereotactic body radiation (SBRT, n=164) or sublobar resection (n=88). After propensity score matching, the odds of experiencing an adverse event was virtually identical, though the types of adverse events were different.
