Six of one.

The people most likely to get lung cancer are the same people most likely to have major complications from lung surgery. A retrospective look at prospectively captured data on 252 patients with stage I-IIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) ineligible for lobectomy compared outcomes after stereotactic body radiation (SBRT, n=164) or sublobar resection (n=88). After propensity score matching, the odds of experiencing an adverse event was virtually identical, though the types of adverse events were different. SBRT was more likely to result in fatigue and sublobar resection was more likely to result in infection or respiratory issues. | Wang, Ann Am Thorac Soc 2022
