Hispanic Health Paradox.

Did you know Hispanic patients, despite having demonstrably worse social determinants of health, actually have generally better survival outcomes than non-Hispanic White counterparts after a diagnosis of lung cancer? This review explains this paradox may be due to a higher frequency of EGFR-mutations among Hispanic patients, though this biologic advantage is easily erased when there is a lack of access to biomarker testing and appropriate targeted therapies. | Raez, JCO Oncol Pract 2022
