Hating on waiting.

One of the most common questions at the last status check during breast radiation is when to start endocrine therapy. A common reply is 2-4 weeks after radiation, or as soon as radiation side effects largely resolve. But what if a patient feels like waiting longer? This NCDB analysis of just over 144K women receiving endocrine therapy alone (no chemo) for localized breast cancer reports higher risk of death (HR 1.31) among the 6% who failed to initiate treatment within 150 days of surgery, in line with a very similar prior study. The elephant in the room: why are these women waiting over 5 months to start endocrine therapy in the first place..?  | Fu, JAMA Netw Open 2022
