Revisiting the importance of limiting over-diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, this Dutch registry study evaluated rates of prescription medicines and/or hospital admissions for depression following radical prostatectomy. Remarkably, the rate among 5570 men post-prostatectomy was nearly double (10%) that of age-matched controls (6%). This rate rose even further with subsequent use of androgen deprivation therapy (HR 1.8), salvage radiation (HR 1.3), or both (HR 2.2). | Friberg, Eur Urol Oncol 2021
