An ethical not-so hypothetical.
This qualitative study aimed to describe problems faced by oncologists during the first 6 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recurrent themes were patient inequities and abandonment in the face of limited resources and significant delays in care. For many US oncologists, this translated to their first ethical pull away from personalized care and more towards public health, including denying dying patients a visitor.
