A positive take.

The first of its kind Dutch retrospective comparison of 153 patients receiving stereotactic photon treatment of uveal melanoma versus another 153 matched controls receiving stereotactic photon radiation suggests proton therapy results in no worse local control at 10 years (88%) versus photon therapy (90%) while causing significantly less vitreous hemorrhage (3% and 18%, respectively). An alternative take is proton therapy results in no better control, while vitreous hemorrhage can almost always be corrected surgically. | van Beek, Radiother Oncol 2021
