Dilating the data.

Although pretty much everyone agrees that a vaginal dilator should be used following pelvic radiation to minimize vaginal stenosis and/or adhesions, there’s no great guidelines out there on the best frequency and duration. Until there is, here is a practice survey of New Zealand rad oncs. There was pretty universal agreement to recommend its use after all female pelvic radiation, generally 3x weekly starting ≥2 weeks after treatment completion. Recs on the duration of use, however, were all over the place, spanning anywhere from 6 to >36 months. | Summerfield, J Med Radiat Sci 2020
