Transparent tips.

Wherever you fall on the Chinese COVID-coverup theories, physicians and scientists on the ground there are providing a plethora of data for our review. First up, recs from the only dedicated cancer hospital in Wuhan, the Hubei Cancer Hospital. It organized a special infection control team to help non-infectious disease docs (e.g., rad oncs) mitigate spread in ways they may not have otherwise recognized. Measures included designated infection control zones, daily symptom checks for patients on-treatment, rotating staff schedules, and specialized disinfection and disposal techniques—all resulting in zero reported in-clinic transmissions. Another report from the Hubei Cancer Hospital again harps on continual patient and staff screening and clinic zoning as well as the novel idea for special staff training on proper use of PPE and appropriate disinfection. Finally, a detailed report from the province of Guangdong, nearby the province of Hubei, specifies (thanks, Table 1) what exactly is meant by clinical infection control zones and how and where to triage rad onc clinic patients step-by step (Figure 1). TBL: Those who don’t learn from recent history are doomed to repeat it. | Wei, Radiother Oncol 2020; Wu, Adv Radiat Oncol 2020; Chen, Adv Radiat Oncol 2020
