Worse cancer outcomes among non-white patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are well-established. This provocative SEER analysis of patients >65 years old and enrolled in Medicare suggests one reason is that Hispanic patients are less likely (OR 0.72) and black patients nearly half as likely (OR 0.54) than white patients during the same timeframe to receive initial staging PET. In turn, receipt of PET was a significant determinant of improved overall survival (HR 0.61). | Morgan, J Natl Cancer Inst 2020
