Allogeneic stem cell transplants are no joke. Even when you survive all the acute toxicity, you remain at high risk for immunosuppression-related infections, including HPV in up to 40% of survivors leading to skyrocketing rates of secondary malignancies such as skin cancer. Good thing this phase 1 trial demonstrates safety and efficacy of the quadrivalent HPV vaccine when administered post-transplant among 44 women. | Stratton, JAMA Oncol 2020
