This retrospective study of 142 patients with Barrett high-grade dysplasia or adenocarcinoma of the esophagus confirms HPV-positivity (present in a quarter of cases here) is prognostic of better disease outcomes and survival, particularly with coupled with other biomarkers such as low expression of pRb, CD1 or KI-67 or with high expression of MCM2.
