Fecal transplant?

The last decade has seen IMRT for the treatment of cervical cancer arrive on the scence as a complicated attempt to questionably reduce treatment-related GI-toxicity. This small prospective study of both gut microbiome (via stool samples) and GI symptoms (via PROs) throughout definitive chemoradiation for 35 patients with cervical cancer demonstrates a linear association between greater GI toxicity and diminished diversity of gut microbiome, likely triggered by changes in gut epithelium and easily corrected by simple reintroductions of normal gut flora. | Mitra, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2020
