Alexander Fleming didn’t ignore when a Penicillium mold thwarted growth of his precious Staphylococcus simply because it wasn’t hypothesized in an a priori IRB-approved document. This viewpoint argues neither should we ignore interesting tidbits picked up on scans, labs, DNA etc as rigorously documented in clinical trials simply because they have nothing to do with the primary endpoint. | Oren, JAMA 2020
