Talc pleurodesis is a common treatment for malignant pleural effusion. Who knew the talc can be delivered either via chest tube in the form of a slurry or via “poudrage” where it is sprayed directly onto the pleural surface during a thoracoscopic procedure? Well, this large UK (has there ever been a more British word than "poudrage"?) randomized trial comparing the two procedures reveals no difference in pleurodesis failure rate (22-24% at 90 days) between methods. | Bhatnagar, JAMA 2019
