We all know the Dutch are all about being efficient. So they see the “accelerated” partial breast regimens of “RAPID” and B-39 and raise them. This prospective single arm study of 20 Gy, yes 20 Gy, in a single (yes, single!) fraction to the gross tumor for favorable breast cancer reports a 45% complete pathologic response at time of surgery 6-8 months later. With only a 3% grade 3+ toxicity rate and no recurrences at a median of nearly 2 years, dare we say this may eventually turn into a definitive therapeutic alternative. | Vasmel, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2019
