Bern the waste.

This literature review and data synthesis using national databases reports that one quarter(!) of the unprecedented-in-world-history healthcare spending of the U.S. is complete waste, meaning we put more money in the garbage than most other countries put into their healthcare systems entirely. Topping the list of wasteful spending is once again administrative complexity, though it is conspicuously absent from any included studies on how to curb costs. | Shrank, JAMA 2019
