Some say natural disasters are on the rise. With this in mind, this unique NCDB analysis asked what happens if a hurricane disaster was declared in a region where patients were receiving radiation for locally-advanced lung cancer. As predicted, overall survival was significantly worse for those patients, suggesting an efficient transfer of radiation treatment may need to be included in your next emergency preparedness plan. | Nogueria, JAMA 2019
