ACA Medicaid expansion impact on racial disparities in time to cancer treatment.

Headline: Medicaid expansions help patients get cancer care faster. Over 34K patients with advanced cancer diagnoses within the Flatiron Health database were queried and dichotomized based on whether they initiated first-line cancer treatment within 30 days of diagnosis. As predicted, there was a significant increase in the overall proportion of patients receiving timely care after versus before Medicaid expansions. Before expansions, black patients were significantly less likely than their white counterparts to receive timely care. After expansions, increases were most pronounced among groups needing it most, wiping out previous disparities between races.
