Bloodborne illness.

What cancer is most likely to come up when taking a medical history of someone with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)? Breast cancer. This analysis of French claims data demonstrates women treated for breast cancer subsequently had 5x the incidence rate of myelodysplastic syndrome and nearly 3x the rate of AML. Though the etiology of this linkage remains elusive, one can hope it will only get better with sweeping de-escalations in systemic therapy. | Jabaji, JAMA Netw Open 2019
