As we heard at ASTRO 2018, and in line with De-ESCALaTE, the full pub describing RTOG 1016 indicates cetuximab produces inferior survival and no less toxicity compared to cisplatin when delivered concurrent with definitive radiation. In contrast to De-ESCALaTE, 1016 was a noninferiority trial with a primary outcome of overall survival at 5 years. Here again that outcome was worse with cetuximab (78%) than with cisplatin (85%).
