Unintended consequences.

In 2009 the USPSTF recommended annual mammography screening not start until age 50. An analysis of private insurance claims data asked whether recommendations became a reality among women ages 40-49 in a large Michigan cohort. Indeed, rate of mammography use saw an absolute decrease of 2%. There was a greater 5% absolute decrease specifically among women with histories of breast cancer.
