Know a survivor 5 years out from resection of pancreatic cancer? That’s great, but don’t go so far as to call them cured. A SEER analysis of long-term survivors demonstrates death from other causes (i.e., the only real “cure”) did not outweigh death from pancreatic cancer until year 9, and all-cause mortality remained as high as 10% during years 9-13. | Swords, JAMA Oncol 2018
