Hook and lateral.

“Regional” nodal irradiation is open to interpretation, so this Northwestern University retrospective study aimed to get specific with lateral extent of supraclavicular fields. The rate of lymphedema at 5 years for women treated with tighter fields (n=101) covering <1/3 the humeral head was 8% versus 37% for those treated with wider fields (n=391). That’s quite a difference considering there was no difference in isolated locoregional recurrences, which occurred in 4% and 5% of women, respectively. | Gross, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2018
