As a reminder, biosimilars are simply generic biologic agents (e.g., monoclonal antibodies, aka drugs that end in -mab). Though it’s really not simple at all considering biologic agents fall under a FDA purview all of their own, leaving the U.S. with only 11 approved biosimilars in 2018.
