Not such a great IDEA.

In a special edition QuadShot, we’re focusing on outcomes of the IDEA collaborative. Why focus on this? The whole IDEA was to address a very straightforward and clinically relevant question: is 3 months of adjuvant chemotherapy as good as 6 months for patients with locally-advanced colon cancer? But it’s now obvious there were some major statistical issues. A series of related manuscripts [1, 2, 3] were published last week in almost every major cancer journal, except JAMA that instead published a series of critiques on how we use and abuse statistical significance. Coincidence? You decide. | The IDEA Collaborative Trials
